2017 GROUP SWIM LESSONS PROGRAM
We have scheduled three sessions of group lessons again this summer with each running for two-weeks. The sessions will run from Monday through Thursday (rain or holiday make-ups are on Fridays. Class start times are 9:00am, 9:45am and 10:30am and will last 30 minutes. Group sizes will range from three to ten, with one or two qualified instructors depending on the class size.All children will be grouped according to their swimming ability into the following categories: Pre-beginner, Beginner, Advanced Beginner and Intermediate
Pre-beginner: An introduction to swimming to foster confidence in the water. Children will acquire floating, kicking, gliding and back floating skills. NO CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF 3.
Beginner: The child will gain confidence in the water. Floating (front and back), freestyle, and elementary backstroke will be emphasized.
Advanced Beginner: In this section the child will be given the opportunity to take and pass the "patch test". Emphasis will be freestyle with rotary breathing, backstroke and treading water.
Intermediate: All the previous strokes will be refined, and the child will be introduced to breaststroke, butterfly and flip turns.
COST AND SIGN-UP
The cost for each session will be $50 for members/renters and $65 for non-members on a space available basis. If you are a non-member interested in signing up for lessons, please come to the front desk a few days before the first class to confirm that space is available. Payment is required at time of sign-up.
Payment must be in cash or check payable to: Vienna Woods. Registration forms will be available at the front desk or here and accepted beginning Wednesday, June 1st when the pool opens for all three sessions of swim lessons. Registration is ongoing and may be done at any time during regular pool hours.
GROUP SWIM LESSONS SESSION DATES
Priority given to members and renters, but there may be space for non-members in all sessions.
Session 1: June 26 - July 7
Session 2: July 10 - July 21
Session 3: July 24 - August 4
Lession times are 9:00-9:30am, 9:45-10:15am and 10:30-11am, please indicate preference on sign-up form.
Registration will be handled by our pool manager, Nancy Wanzer firstname.lastname@example.org at the front desk only after the posted dates.
PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Private Swim Lessons - Private lessons are offered by most of our pool staff. Contact the pool manager or qualified guards to schedule a private lesson. Prices are $20/half an hour for private and $25/ half an hour for semi-private (2 swimmers at a time). Private lessons are offered only to members/renters.

Lap swimming and Water Aerobics (before Noon opening time)
Did that swim suit shrink again over the winter? It's time to tone up those muscles and get back into shape - remember that New Years Resolution? Vienna Woods has just the perfect programs for you.
Each Sunday morning beginning in late June the pool will open at 11:00 am for water exercise. We offer two options for adults only. The first option is lap swimming. This is a self- paced program for individuals who enjoy swimming and getting or staying in shape. Kick boards will be provided; all other swimming aids that you use must be brought from home. This is free, and who knows, you may find money on the bottom of the pool and come out ahead.
We are happy to announce that our highly regarded water aerobics instructor, Sharon Turner, is returning to teach water aerobics! The class is offered on Sunday mornings from 11am-12noon. Please bring $7 and a noodle and come enjoy an excellent workout and comraderie with your fellow participants.
This extra hour is for water aerobics and lap swimmers only. Children wishing to play and adults wishing to "sun" please adhere to the 12 noon opening time.
Wednesday: 11:00am to 1:00pm*
Saturday: 10:00 am to Noon* - NO RAFTS ON OPENING DAY!
*The pool manager may adjust hours.
When applicable, the Saturday raft session will begin at 12 noon and end at 2:00 pm following home swim meets.
Remember, rafts are limited to 3 feet by 6 feet to ensure safe visibility for lifeguards.
