• 2011 Swim Season completed with a 5-0 record as Division 3 Champions!

• Winter Swim??  You bet!  It's a great way to stay in shape, improve you stroke, stamina and times.

• This is NOT a learn to swim program.  Nor does this program  have the intensity of a 'year around' program such as York, Machine, Curl-Burke, Marlins, Fish, etc.
• When & Where:  Begins September 18 and goes to May 20. Runs from 6:00 - 7:00 PM @ Providence Rec Center

• Cost:  $175. NO REFUNDS   ($20 fee for cancellations before program starts)
• Note:  You must be a Vienna Woods Member or Renter to participate

• Parents are advised to carry their own insurance covering their participants during this activity. Parents are also required to supervise their children at all times while they are in the locker rooms.
• All personal property of the participant in and on the premises, shall be and remain at the sole risk of the participant

• Ages 7 and over are automatically registered for the daily swim team practices.  To be eligible for daily practice, a child must be able to swim 25 meters (the width of the pool at the diving end) without the aid of a person or device and have the ability to complete a one-hour practice.

• Swimmers who are unable to perform the criteria above will be placed in the Mini-Star practices or a full refund will be made upon request.   Written refund requests must be made to Kelli Owens, Board Member, by June 29th.

MINI-STARS: 

• Swimmers who are unable to swim 25 meter freestyle or complete an hour practice are eligible for Mini-Star practices. A child must be able to swim across the width of the pool in the 4-foot deep section, without the aid of a person or device.

• Swimmers who are interested in the Mini-Stars program must be registered through the Vienna Woods Swim Team BEFORE they are evaluated on June 24th.

Depending on ability, Mini-Star swimmers may be invited to attend the daily swim team practices. With a coach's permission, a Mini-Star may swim in an NVSL meet. Mini-Stars are considered full swim team members and participate in the Team Awards ceremony.

If you would like your child evaluated before Mini-Stars begins, please contact the Coach to arrange for an evaluation during regular swim team practice. A child may be re-evaluated upon parental request for inclusion in the Mini-Stars during the swim season if space allows, though, fees will not be prorated. Full refunds, however, will be made for any child who is unable to complete the minimum requirements and a request is made to Kelli Owens, Board Member.

• NVSL Standards of Conduct 
• The NVSL has adopted a new standard of conduct for all athletes, coaches, team representatives, officials, parents, and spectators.  All associated with the Vienna Woods Swim Team will be expected to adhere to the new standards.

Swim Suit: Our team suit for boys and girls will be a solid black suit adorned with the Vienna Woods logo. 

Stoke and Turn, table workers, timers, referee and clerk of course are in demand. 

Certain positions (stroke and turn & starter) require certification (just a few hours).  All others are OJT.  But we NEED certified parents to help out the ones we have.  Please consider becoming a certified official to support your swimmers!

Vienna Woods has an average of 150 participants each summer. We hope that through participation on our team each child will develop a love for the sport, improve aquatic skills, learn teamwork and good sportsmanship, and have fun!
